Privacy Policy

Section 1 — Information We Collect

When you make a purchase from our store, we gather certain personal details necessary to process the transaction, including your name, mailing address, and email.

While you're browsing our site, your device's IP address is automatically captured, which helps us understand your browser type and operating system.

Email marketing (where applicable): If you give us permission, we may occasionally send you updates about our store, new arrivals, and promotions.

Section 2 — Your Consent

How is consent obtained?

Whenever you share personal information with us to finalize an order, confirm a payment method, arrange shipping, or process a return, that information is used solely for completing the transaction at hand, and providing it is treated as consent for that purpose.

Should we need your details for anything beyond the transaction itself — such as promotional emails — we'll either request your explicit approval or give you a clear way to decline.

How can you take back your consent?

Once you've opted in, you're free to change your mind. You can revoke permission for us to keep contacting you, or to keep collecting, using, or sharing your data, whenever you like, by reaching out to us at support@purepod.shop.

Section 3 — When We Share Your Information

We may release your personal details if legally obligated to, or if you've breached our Terms of Service.

Section 4 — Our Platform (Shopify)

Our online store runs on Shopify Inc.'s e-commerce platform, which powers our ability to sell to you.

Shopify handles the storage of your data across its servers and databases, keeping it protected behind a firewall on secure infrastructure.

Regarding Payments:

Should you complete checkout through a direct payment gateway, Shopify is responsible for storing your card details, safeguarded via encryption that meets Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS). Once your transaction is finished, the payment information tied to it is retained only as long as needed, then removed.

Every direct payment gateway we use complies with PCI-DSS rules, a framework overseen by the PCI Security Standards Council and backed by major card networks such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

These PCI-DSS standards work to keep your card information handled safely by both our store and the vendors supporting it.

You can find further details by reviewing Shopify's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Section 5 — Third-Party Providers

As a rule, any outside vendors we work with will only gather, use, or share your information to the degree required for them to deliver their services to us.

That said, some third parties — like payment processors — operate under their own separate privacy policies regarding the data we must pass along for your transactions.

We suggest reviewing those providers' policies directly so you understand exactly how they'll manage your information.

Keep in mind that some of these providers may be based in, or operate facilities within, a country different from your own or ours. If you go through with a transaction involving such a provider, your data could become subject to the legal framework of wherever that provider is located.

For instance, a customer in Canada whose order is processed by a US-based payment gateway may have their information subject to disclosure under U.S. law, including the Patriot Act.

External Links

Should our site's links take you elsewhere, please note we bear no responsibility for how those third-party sites handle privacy, and we encourage you to check their policies before proceeding.

Section 6 — How We Protect Your Data

We take reasonable, industry-standard steps to guard your personal information from being lost, misused, accessed without authorization, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.

Any credit card details you submit are protected via SSL encryption and stored using AES-256 encryption. While no online transmission or digital storage method offers absolute security, we adhere to PCI-DSS standards along with other widely accepted security practices.

Section 7 — Cookies We Use

Below is a rundown of the cookies our site uses, so you can decide whether to opt out:

  • _session_id — a unique token, active for your session, that lets Shopify track session details like referral source and landing page.
  • _shopify_visit — holds no personal data, lasts 30 minutes after your last visit, and is used for our provider's internal visit-tracking statistics.
  • _shopify_uniq — holds no personal data, expires at midnight (your local time) the following day, and tallies how many times a single customer has visited the store.
  • cart — a unique token lasting two weeks, used to remember what's in your shopping cart.
  • _secure_session_id — a unique, session-based token.
  • storefront_digest — a unique token with no expiration, used to check whether a visitor has access when the shop is password-protected.

Section 8 — Minimum Age Requirement

By using this website, you're confirming that you've reached the age of majority in your province or state, or, if not, that a parent or guardian with that status has authorized your use of the site and consented on your behalf.

Section 9 — Updates to This Policy

We may revise this privacy policy at any point, so we recommend checking back periodically. Any edits or clarifications become effective as soon as they're published on the site. Should we make substantial changes, we'll post a notice here so you stay informed about what data we collect, how it's used, and when it might be shared.

In the event our business is sold or merges with another company, your information may be passed along to the new owners so they can continue serving you.
